An evening of classical music dedicated to the memory of Heydar Aliyev

In connection with the 100th anniversary of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and with the joint organization of the Baku City Executive Power and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an evening of classical music was held at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall. The event was attended by the head of the Executive Power of Baku, Eldar Azizov, heads of a number of state structures, deputies of the Milli Majlis, representatives of the capital's public, representatives of higher and secondary educational institutions, veterans and youth organizations, scientists and cultural figures, numerous guests.

It was noted that in the first years of the Great Leader's coming to power in Azerbaijan, on his initiative, in order to increase people's interest in many areas of culture, including classical and symphonic music, as well as in order for this music to appeal to the broad masses of the audience, concerts of state figures of the republic, leading workers of all branches of the national economy, scientists and cultural figures, and classical music evenings were organized with the participation of workers of trade unions and Komsomol, party and then political elite. In these evenings, where symphonic and classical works by world and Azerbaijani composers were played, the Great Leader was always present himself, and often together with members of his family.

On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader, as a tribute to his bright memory, a program was organized, reflecting in the memories of classical music evenings of the 70s of the last century and including the favorite classical works of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. This evening of classical music also became an expression of respect for the bright memory of the Great Leader in musical language.

For the first time, the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli conducted by Mustafa Mehmandarov performed the "overture" from Uzeyir Hajibeyli's opera "Koroglu".

Then, accompanied by the orchestra and the Azerbaijan State Choral Chapel led by People's Artist Gulbaji Imanova, the works of world-famous Azerbaijani composers Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Kara Garayev, Muslim Magomayev, Jahangir Jahangirov, Arif Melikov, Niyazi, Vasif Adygezalov, Kemal, Sevil Aliyeva, Ruslan, as well as immortal works and folk songs of Zeynalov and others were performed by People's Artists Fidan Hajiyeva, Azer Zeynalov, Honored Artists Ramil Gasimov, Ilham Nazarov, Anar Shushaly, Jayla Seidova, Khayyam Mustafazade, Afag Abbasova, Sahib Pashazade and the famous performer Amil Hasanoglu.

The concert, which gave the audience unforgettable moments, was very touching and memorable and was met with applause.
