Basketball competitions are held in Abad neighborhoods of the capital
Baku City executive power, Baku City Youth and Sports Department and Regional Development Public Union jointly organized an inter-quarter basketball tournament covering Baku City districts dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The main purpose of these competitions is to educate teenagers and young people in a healthy lifestyle and involve them in sports. 3x3 basketball competitions organized at the stadiums in abad neighborhoods, created within the framework of the “Our yard” project implemented in settlements and settlements of the capital on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union, are attended by 500 teams, including about 120 young athletes. The tournament is held on the Olympic system according to the technical regulations approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and The Basketball Federation of Azerbaijan. The first stage of the tournament will last until April 30, and the final matches will be concluded on May 4-5. The winners of the competitions will be awarded with trophies, diplomas, medals and valuable prizes.
