13 August 2024 | 17:59

The project for the collection, transportation, and sorting of solid household waste, which has been successfully implemented by the Baku City Executive Power for the past 5 years, is continuing successfully. Starting from August 20, Binaqadi District will also join the project, which is already being carried out in the Narimanov, Nizami, Nasimi, Yasamal, Xatai, Pirallahı, Suraxanı, and Sabail districts of the capital.

It should be noted that positive changes and improvements have been observed recently in the cleanliness and beautification efforts in Binaqadi District. In this regard, the implementation of the project in Binaqadi District is another step towards resolving these issues.

As part of the preparations for the project in the newly joining Binaqadi District, 656 container sites have been established initially. In the first phase, a total of 2,218 modern containers will be placed in these sites, including 1,655 green and 563 orange containers. Responsible individuals for the area will also be appointed.

Special attention is being given to public awareness as part of this project. Meetings are being held in the district’s settlements, neighborhoods, and courtyards with the participation of Baku City and Binaqadi District Executive Power officials, municipal and utility service employees, and youth. According to the Cooperation Memorandum signed between the Baku City Executive Power and the “Regional Development” Public Union, the volunteers of the Public Union provide close support for awareness-raising activities.

As part of the awareness activities, the purpose of the project is explained to citizens, green and orange bags and informative booklets are distributed to households, and posters are placed in neighborhoods and building blocks.

It should be noted that, in order to implement the project, 104 new vehicles and machinery fully meeting modern requirements have been procured and put into use from funds allocated from the state budget for municipal services in Baku. Additionally, 40 more vehicles will be delivered soon.

The successful implementation of this project contributes to keeping our capital, which has been transformed into a well-maintained city through recent municipal activities, cleaner, protecting the environment and public health, fostering ecological culture, and achieving economic efficiency.
