Classical Music Concert Held in Baku in Honor of National Leader Heydar Aliyev
A classical music concert titled “Spring of Baku” was held in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of his birth. The open-air concert took place in a newly inaugurated recreation park near the “Ganjlik” metro station and was attended by numerous residents and guests of the capital.
The event featured performances by the Archi Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Mustafa Mehmandarov, who also serves as the orchestra’s artistic director and principal conductor. Throughout the evening, the audience enjoyed musical pieces cherished by the late leader, alongside visual displays and archival footage highlighting significant moments from his life and career.
During the concert, it was emphasized that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, remarkable progress has been made in the development of the country, especially the capital. Thanks to large-scale projects, Baku has transformed into one of the most beautiful cities in the world, enriched with modern parks and green public spaces.
In addition to the unforgettable works of renowned Azerbaijani composers such as Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Niyazi, Gara Garayev, Fikret Amirov, Soltan Hajibeyov, and Tofig Guliyev, the program also featured pieces by world-famous composer Antonio Vivaldi. A special highlight was the performance of the national leader’s favorite folk song, “I Sprinkled Water on the Streets.”
The concert captivated the audience with powerful and moving performances by leading Azerbaijani cultural figures, receiving enthusiastic applause and standing ovations.
The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display accompanied by the iconic song “Azerbaijan” by Muslim Magomayev.
