Extensive Cleaning Efforts Carried Out Once Again in the Capital
On Saturday, April 19, large-scale cleaning operations were carried out across the capital by the Baku City Executive Power. These efforts aimed to further improve the city’s sanitary condition ahead of the summer season and ensure proper care of existing green spaces.
As part of the initiative, 550 streets throughout Baku were thoroughly washed using environmentally friendly detergents safe for plants and living beings. Soil and debris accumulated after recent heavy rains were also cleaned up.
In addition to main streets, inner-quarter and intermediate roads were washed. Service teams cleaned avenues, sidewalks, curbs, streetlights, roadside railings, park benches, and recreation areas. Cleaning work was also conducted in residential courtyards and public spaces. Surroundings of public catering venues, shops, and other facilities were tidied to ensure a cleaner urban environment.
Employees of the Baku City Greening Farm Association washed off dust and dirt from trees lining major roads and avenues, loosened the soil around them, and provided agrotechnical care, including natural fertilization of green spaces. In addition, colorful flowers were planted, and vibrant floral compositions were created to delight both residents and visitors of the capital.
All necessary measures to maintain sanitary cleanliness and protect Baku’s greenery will continue throughout the year.
