Following Leyla Aliyeva's initiative, the second step of the project on the inventory of urban vegetation has been launched.

Following the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union, the next stage of the project “registration and numbering of trees in Baku” is being launched since 2022.
On April 13, with the participation of Leyla Aliyeva, trees on the project were registered in the newly opened Park located in the Narimanov District of Baku, and numbered labels were placed on them. At the same time, 50 olive trees were planted in the park.
The main goal of the project, implemented with the joint cooperation of IDEA Public Union, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as local executive authorities and municipalities, is to ensure the sustainability of the protection of green spaces, eliminate interference situations, form a refined inventory and registry platform, and strengthen public control.
It should be noted that within the framework of the project, The Information System “Register of urban greenery” has already been created and about 25 thousand trees have been registered in the Sabail District of Baku City, and it is planned to complete the inventory process in the coming months by putting number plates on them.
At the same time, during the implementation of the project at the pilot stage, 2,352 trees were recorded and inventory was carried out in Ataturk Park and Abad yard complexes located in the territory of Narimanov district. Inventory boards identifying each tree were placed on the inventory trees.
For the purpose of making public information about trees www.agac.az the portal was launched in trial mode. The presented portal was created as an integral part of the Information System “Digital ecology”, the regulation of which was approved by the decree of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 10, 2025 No. 282.
Registration works apply to all green areas located in the administrative area of the city, including park, roadside and courtyard quarters. The process is carried out by pre-organized teams, by putting specially designed number labels on each tree and by collecting honest information about that tree in an electronic database. Numbering is carried out by the method that is completely harmless to trees. The labels applied to the trunk of the tree are made of durable material, on which the number of the tree and the QR-code for the transition to the individual profile of the tree are reflected.
