Leyla Aliyeva attends an event organized for children in the Central Botanical Garden
Following the initiative of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva, a festive event was organized for children in the Central Botanical Garden. The event was organized by the executive power of Baku City for minors living in boarding houses. Within the framework of the Holiday Program, fun events, games and musical programs were presented for the little ones. Various gifts were distributed to the children. Then Leyla Aliyeva, together with the children, released 10 squirrels in the territory of the Central Botanical Garden in the Baku Zoological Park within the framework of the project “urban ecology” of IDEA Public Union. The project” Urban Ecology " is aimed at preserving and returning fauna species characteristic of the urban environment and widespread in the past. Another purpose of releasing squirrels into this area is their natural reproduction on the territory of the Botanical Garden. In the past, numerous species of squirrels and other animals settled in the territory of Baku, which freely wandered among people in parks and other areas where there were green spaces. However, due to the environmental problems that existed at the end of the last century, the number of these species has sharply decreased. Thanks to the extensive landscaping and landscaping work carried out in the country in recent years, in particular, the efforts of the IDEA Public Union, as a result of the reduction of illegal logging in Baku and the planting of countless new trees, favorable conditions have been created for the return of many species of fauna in the city.
