Mosaics-cultural heritage of Baku
In a number of districts of Baku there are Mosaic compositions are decorate some buildings and parks of our city, which are one of the forms of historical cultural heritage of our people. Unfortunately, due to the lack of proper attention to this form, in which folk applied art is widely used, there was a serious need to carry out restoration work on Mosaic compositions created in the XX century.
Bakubaku.az reports that in connection with the restoration of existing mosaic compositions,several meetings were held in the Baku city Executive Power with Heydar Aliyev Vice-President, founder and head of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva, regarding the progress and implementation of projects.
After the discussions, an appropriate commission was established on the issue and a preliminary action plan was determined. The heads of the district executive authorities were instructed to carry out inventory in the territories of the districts headed by them, restore existing mosaic compositions and increase control over them. Restoration work has already begun in some areas.
At the meeting, it was decided to publish an album, which included the existing mosaic compositions.
