Next tree planting action held in Baku
Work is being done to extend Baku's green zones, restore the ecological balance, and safeguard the environment in compliance with President Ilham Aliyev's proclamation of 2024 as the "year of solidarity for the green world" in the Republic of Azerbaijan. In connection with the execution of the order and traditionally on the eve of Novruz holiday, on March 16, a tree planting action was held in Sabail and Garadagh districts of the capital with the joint Organization of Baku City executive power and “Regional Development” Public Union.
Today, in connection with the threat of global climate changes and water shortages, work is underway to plant drought-resistant plants, trees and shrubs suitable for the local climate, as well as flowering trees and shrubs of different colors in Baku as a contribution to the protection of the environment and the Prevention of climate changes.
Within the framework of the action, 600 trees and shrubs were planted, selected in accordance with climatic conditions by employees of executive bodies and volunteers of the public union.
Such tree planting actions will be held in all districts of Baku, and during the season it is planned to continue measures related to the landscaping of the capital, Green care and improvement.
