Spraying against white American butterflies was carried out in the capital
In recent days, there have been cases of worm infestation of mulberry trees in some areas of the capital. Worms, collected in trees, also go out into courtyards, residential buildings, roadsides. This, in turn, worries the inhabitants.
In connection with the issue, experts inspected the areas where the worms were observed and found that these worms are the caterpillars of the white American Butterfly.
This butterfly has 120 species of plants, various varieties of Mulberry, cherry, apple, plum, apricot, pear, peach, blueberry, rosehip, lilac, ash, Poplar, currant, etc. it harms the species. During the research carried out in Absheron, its nutrition with 30 species of plants was determined. It should be noted that the mentioned hasharats are not harmful to human health.
Many measures of struggle are used by The Specialists of the Baku City Greening Farm Association to eliminate organisms harmful to plants. Taking into account the fact that the American white butterfly is a new invasive species for Azerbaijan, in case of detection, measures are applied to completely destroy all its foci, regardless of their number.
In connection with the above mentioned, an action plan has been prepared by the Baku City Association for landscaping, daily monitoring is carried out in the area, and special means of spraying are carried out in the areas where butterfly worms are found.
