Surakhani district also joined the project of the capital's mayor's office
In accordance with the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on expansion of reforms in the communal sphere, the project of collection, transportation and sorting of solid domestic waste, implemented jointly by the Executive Power of Baku City and the British company "Mott MacDonald", has been successfully continued for 4 years.
BCEP Informs that positive results achieved in the implementation of the project, which was initially realized in Narimanov district, allowed to connect 6 more districts of the capital to this work - Nizami, Nasimi, Yasamal, Khatai, Pirallahi and Sabail districts.
In a few days - July 12 it is planned to start the project in Surakhani district of Baku. Within the framework of preparatory works, first of all, about 700 container yards have been created in Surakhani district, which will join the project. At the initial stage, more than 4000 new, modern containers of green and orange colors have been installed in these yards and responsible persons have been assigned to the district.
Within the framework of this project, which pays special attention to the education of residents, meetings are held in the neighborhoods, yards and settlements of Surakhani district. Heads of executive power of Baku city and Surakhani district, employees of municipal and economic services, youth and volunteers were involved in these works. According to the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between Baku City Executive Power and Regional Development Public Association, the volunteers of the Public Association provide direct support to the educational work.
In order to explain the project to citizens, employees and volunteers of specialized institutions meet with residents, distribute green and orange bags, explanatory booklets to apartments, paste educational posters in neighborhoods and districts.
It should be noted that 104 new vehicles and mechanisms fully meeting modern requirements to the public utilities of Baku city have been purchased and put into operation with the funds allocated by the Head of State for the implementation of the project, and this process continues.
As a result of measures implemented in the communal sector in recent years, our capital Baku has become a very clean and prosperous city, and successful implementation of this project will serve to keep Baku city clean, protect the environment and public health, form environmental culture and achieve economic efficiency.
