Baku Undergoes Another Citywide Cleaning
To boost urban sanitation standards during the hot summer months and maintain local green spaces, the Baku City Executive Power organized another large-scale citywide cleanup campaign on Saturday, August 15.
According to the Press Service of the Baku City Executive Power, municipal utility services deployed specialized equipment across main avenues, secondary roads, and residential alleyways to wash surfaces with non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning detergents. These washing agents are widely used internationally and pose no risk to plants or animal life.
Crews thoroughly washed street edges, curbs, lampposts, roadside railings, and park benches, while also conducting deep cleaning across residential neighborhoods. Commercial storefronts, kiosks, and bus stops were wiped down throughout the city.
Meanwhile, workers from the Baku City Greening Maintenance Association washed trees along major highways, pruned dry branches, loosened soil, and carried out routine landscaping care. Colorful flower arrangements were also planted along parks, avenues, and streets to enhance the capital's visual appeal.
Alongside the daytime cleanup, the Baku City Executive Power and local district authorities hosted open-air concerts starting at 7:00 PM to enrich the leisure time of residents and visitors. Musical events were held in major public spaces, including Nizami Ganjavi Park in Khatai, the amphitheater near Ganjlik metro station in Narimanov, the Forest Park in Jasamal, and both Heydar Aliyev Park and the Central Botanical Garden in Nizami.
Launched last week, these evening open-air concerts will run through the end of the summer season.
