The French and Urdu editions of the book “History of the Patriotic War. The Personality Factor” were presented.
A presentation ceremony for the French and Urdu editions of the book “History of the Patriotic War. The Personality Factor” was held at Azerbaijan University of Languages, organized jointly by the Baku City Executive Authority and the university. The event was attended by representatives of the Baku City Executive Authority, university faculty members, master’s and bachelor’s students, as well as other guests.
At the beginning of the event, the dear memory of our compatriots who became martyrs for the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of our homeland was honored with a minute of silence.
Opening the event, the rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, academician Kamal Abdulla, noted that in the period following the Patriotic War, many books, chronicles, and films have been created dedicated to the glorious victory. The book, a joint project by the Baku City Executive Authority and the Institute of History, dedicated to the 44-day Patriotic War, has already been published in ten languages, and today the French and Urdu editions are being presented.
Elmin Imanov, Head of the Department for Public-Political, Humanitarian Affairs and Work with Religious Organizations of the Baku City Executive Authority, stated that the glorious victory in the Patriotic War was achieved thanks to the great intellect and wise leadership skills of President Ilham Aliyev. This once again proves the significance of the personality factor in history. The book also highlights the role of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its head, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, in the restoration and development of the liberated territories.
The book has sparked great interest among readers and experts closely following the events in Karabakh. Therefore, a sequel titled “History of the Patriotic War. Restoration of Azerbaijan’s Territorial Integrity – The Personality Factor” has also been published. This new book reflects significant historical events such as the restoration of the country’s sovereignty, extensive reconstruction in the liberated territories, and the return of former internally displaced persons to their native lands. The translation of this book into English, Russian, and Turkish has already begun.
Speakers at the event, including Head of the Department of French Lexicology and Stylistics at the university, Gulnara Sadikhova, Head of the Pakistan Language and Culture Center, Athar Mahmood, and others, emphasized the importance of publishing the book in multiple languages to reach the global community. Following this, senior lecturer Kamala Karimova from the Department of French Lexicology and Stylistics and master’s and bachelor’s students of the university presented a detailed video slide presentation about the book.
