The Singaporean minister reminisced about her meeting with the President to Eldar Azizov
A few days ago, the 9th World Cities Summit took place in Singapore. A delegation led by Eldar Azizov, the head of the Executive Power of Baku, participated in the Summit, which was attended by the heads of several cities from around the world.
The main theme of the forum, attended by mayors from 87 countries, including Bangkok, Glasgow, Shanghai, Prague, and Rotterdam, was the future of cities—livable and sustainable urban environments. Discussions within the summit focused on transitioning to green energy, promoting healthier cities, sustainable future development, and other critical issues.
Addressing the forum, Eldar Azizov, head of the Baku City Executive Authority, briefed participants on Baku's developments. He highlighted that under the leadership of the country's president, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Baku has undergone significant qualitative changes, transforming into a creative city. Approximately 400 parks have been established in the capital, with 10 new mega-parks currently under construction.
During the visit, the delegation met with Singapore's Minister of Sustainability and Environment, Mrs. Grace Fu. The minister reminisced about her meeting with President Ilham Aliyev and praised his multilingualism, political acumen, and analytical skills. During the meeting, Eldar Azizov presented publications about Baku city to the minister.
Reflecting on the trip, Eldar Azizov remarked, "Our confidence grew even further during our time in Singapore. Thanks to President Ilham Aliyev's policies, Baku not only matches Singapore in communal and other areas but surpasses it in various metrics. Today, Baku is renowned for its tidiness and cleanliness, acknowledged by both locals and numerous tourists."
