Massive Citywide Cleanup: 556 Baku Streets Washed Today
A large-scale citywide cleanup campaign was held across Baku today, August 15, to enhance urban sanitation standards and maintain local green spaces, according to the Press Service of the Baku City Executive Power.
Beginning early in the morning, municipal utility services deployed specialized equipment to wash 556 main streets and avenues using eco-friendly cleaning detergents. Officials noted that these non-toxic, eco-safe washing agents are widely used internationally and pose no threat to plants or animal life. Comprehensive sanitation and landscaping works were carried out alongside the street washing.
Following the daytime cleanup effort, the Baku City Executive Power and local district authorities hosted open-air concerts starting at 7:00 PM to enrich the leisure time of residents and visitors. Evening musical performances were held across major community spots, including Nizami Ganjavi Park in the Khatai district, the amphitheater near Ganjlik metro station in Narimanov, the Forest Park in Jasamal, and both Heydar Aliyev Park and the Central Botanical Garden in the Nizami district.
