MAIN DIRECTIONS OF THE FOREIGN RELATIONS OF THE BAKU CITY EXECUTIVE POWER
The Baku City Executive Power structures its work in the field of foreign relations based on the foreign policy concept founded in 1993 by our national leader Heydar Aliyev. The activities in this area are conducted in the following directions:
- Relations with Sister and Partner Cities:
Baku has been a member of the United Towns Organisation (World Federation of Sister Cities) since 1978.

"Dakar" Square, as well as Naples and Sarajevo streets, are located in Baku.
Likewise, there is a "Baku" Square in Dakar, a Baku street in Naples, and a "Baku" Hotel in Vung Tau-Con Dao.
- Studying, attracting, and implementing advanced experiences of foreign cities in various fields of management and urban infrastructure;
- Deployment of foreign embassies, maintaining relations with the diplomatic corps, and organizing the provision of communal services to them;
- Coordination of Baku's membership and participation in international organizations;

- Attracting foreign investment into urban projects;
- Organizing mutual promotion with foreign cities;
- Organizing the exchange of delegations, exhibitions, creative teams, mass media, and educational institutions, as well as mutually hosting "Days of Culture" and festivals, etc.;
- Cooperation with world cities based on bilateral agreements and programs;
- Participating in the organizational and protocol support of official itineraries for foreign guests visiting Baku;
- Organizing city tours and orientation for foreign delegations to familiarize them with Baku.
